The King Hussein Foundation/Institute for Family Health is seeking a Prevention Officer (Child Protection Project – Fixed Term Project):
Location Karak & East Amman
Job Purpose.
The Prevention Officer will be responsible for mobilizing, planning, developing, implementing and monitoring child protection awareness programs and sessions in all branches of Institute for Family Health Care.
Primary Responsibilities.
– Encourage children and caregivers to participate in the Institute’s child protection programs.
– Plan, prepare and implement programs to protect children from violence and bullying in schools, homes and communities.
– Plan, prepare, and implement early marriage education and awareness programs.
– Plan, prepare and implement psychosocial support and mental health programs for children
– Plan, prepare and implement parental care programs for child protection
– Plan, arrange and conduct various awareness sessions on child protection and other Institute services.
– Follow up with volunteers within assigned area.
– Conduct weekly survey visits, drop off survey forms and present them to the case coordinator supervisor.
– Work with administrative and technical staff from organizations, schools, etc., and local authorities to plan and conduct workshops.
– Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the line manager that are compatible with his/her area of expertise.
Main Requirements.
– Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology or related field
– At least 3 years of experience
Skills and Competencies
– Familiarity with laws and regulations of humanitarian and international agencies.
– Proficiency in writing reports in English or Arabic.
– Strong communication skills.
– Ability to understand and work in the multicultural environment in which development and community engagement projects are implemented.
– Experience with computers and office software (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
Required Language Skills
– Communication skills (oral and written) in English and Arabic.
